About the Cause
Posted by TH0984 in Thailand on 10/08/2025
This initiative aims to equip young people with practical skills in operating electric embroidery machines and starting small businesses. Approximately 30–40 youths will directly participate in hands-on training sessions lasting one to two days or one week, where they will learn pattern design, equipment maintenance, and basic entrepreneurship skills relevant to their craft. Additionally, another 20–40 youth will benefit indirectly by engaging in activities such as showcasing their work, organizing community workshops, and forming "youth career groups" to collaborate on embroidery and other handicraft projects. The project seeks to empower young people with vocational skills, fostering creativity, confidence, and sustainable income opportunities.

What the church is contributing
Physical Resources
The local church will play a vital role in supporting this initiative by contributing essential physical resources. It will provide a dedicated training venue equipped with tables and chairs to facilitate a comfortable learning environment. Additionally, the church will supply 2 basic electric embroidery machines, along with fabric, thread, practice materials, and other necessary equipment. This collaborative effort aims to create a conducive space for skill development, empowering community members with valuable professional skills in embroidery.
Human Resources
The church will provide volunteer speakers and coordinators who are experienced in embroidery and youth engagement to facilitate the sessions and inspire participants. Additionally, a dedicated venue management team will oversee the smooth operation of the training environment, ensuring that all activities run efficiently. This collaborative effort aims to create a motivating and well-organized learning experience that encourages youth to develop their skills and confidence.

How the church will sustain the Cause
If unforeseen circumstances prevent our church from continuing the electric sewing machine embroidery training project, we will ensure its sustainability by developing comprehensive resources, such as a step-by-step instruction manual in both written and video formats, to enable others to carry on the training seamlessly. We will also identify and train community assistants or volunteers—such as teachers, housewives, or youth seeking skill development—who have a background in sewing or teaching, so they can serve as local trainers and facilitators. This approach guarantees ongoing support and continuity of the project even in our absence. Additionally, we plan to adapt and expand the training content to reach more children and families in the community, ensuring the program’s long-term impact and relevance to diverse groups.
