About Guatemala

Guatemala’s name comes from an ancient Nahuatl Aztec word meaning “land of many trees.” This Central American country is rich in Indigenous heritage and stunning landscapes. Yet many communities face challenges such as poverty, malnutrition, and limited access to education.

purchase of materials and sales for payment of labor.

First of all, we want to thank you for supporting us in such a short time by funding this project. This fundraising effort would have taken much longer on our own. We've had some setbacks, one of them being finding a professional and trustworthy person (a good blacksmith) to oversee the construction and work on the structure of the shed. When we found the right person, they were already busy with another project, so we'll begin construction in the first week of October. The volunteers have been making sales to provide our portion of the budget for this project (labor payments). Our children and parents are very grateful and excited that they will soon have a safe place for participants to develop. We already have the materials for the metal structure and sheets for the roof. We're just waiting for Don Gilberto (the blacksmith) to begin the work. Thank you again for your tremendous support. We'll soon complete the project and share photos and more testimonies from the inauguration of our shed. God bless you and keep you, a thousand times more than now.
