About Rwanda

Muraho! That is how you say “hello” in Kinyarwanda, the official language of Rwanda. Known as the “land of a thousand hills,” this East African country is full of natural beauty. Yet many communities still struggle with access to clean water, reliable food, and educational opportunities.

Second Cause Progress update

We sincerely extend our gratitude to all partners and supporters who made it possible to secure funding for the construction of a toilet facility aimed at improving sanitation for our children and young people. This report serves to provide an update on the progress of the construction work and the impact already being realized. In our previous update, we highlighted several challenges that contributed to delays in implementation. We are pleased to report that these obstacles have since been addressed, and substantial progress has been achieved. The construction is now in its final stages, with most of the structural work completed. Due to the critical importance of this facility, it has already been opened for partial use, even as final finishing activities continue. Once fully completed, the toilet facility will significantly improve hygiene conditions within the Centre, as well as serve the nearby church and school that support vulnerable children. The initiative has been widely appreciated by local government authorities and parents, reflecting its relevance and positive impact on the community. It is expected to reduce sanitation-related diseases, promote better health outcomes, and contribute to improved school attendance by addressing barriers linked to poor hygiene. Currently, final works such as painting, installation of fixtures, and minor finishing touches are underway. We remain committed to ensuring high-quality completion and will provide a more comprehensive update in our next report.
