About the Cause
Posted by EAR Kibyagira in Rwanda on 10/08/2024
At our centre, we already have 32 Compassion children already enrolled in lessons on weaving, we also have 8 siblings of 5 caregivers of supported children learning how to weave. When it comes to sewing, we also have 28 children learning, 9 siblings and 5 caregivers of supported children learning. Caregivers are learning to sew clothes using machines. We would like to buy more machines to add to the ones we already have. The more machines we have, the more people we will be able to serve. We have 2 knitting machines and 3 sewing machines. This will enable us to provide skills to a large number of children, relatives and parents so that they can start sewing and weaving houses. We want these machines because we work in a rural area with people who need sweaters, scarves and clothes that are well made and sewn. If we receive this funding, we would immediately purchase these machines and recruit more teachers to recruit a large number of beneficiaries.

How the church will sustain the Cause
We are committed to maintaining these machines and ensuring they remain in good working condition, as well as providing ongoing compensation for the teachers. With the income generated through this project, we will be able to sustain these efforts long term. Once the initial trainees are trained, they will be equipped to pass on their knowledge, creating a cycle of learning and teaching within the community. This will not only provide valuable skills but also foster a culture of self-employment, helping our children grow into productive, independent individuals who can support themselves and contribute to the local economy.
Empowered church and family to minister to children and youth in poverty for a holistic lifetime transformation.
