About the Cause

EAR Gikonko CDC

Posted by EAR Gikonko CDC in Rwanda on 11/15/2024

Our project is for sewing and knitting, which will help improve the living conditions of 295 caregivers. We need to implement this project in order to address the issue of continued increases in prices and scarcity of good clothing in our district of Gisagara and the elsewhere in country. To implement this project, we will need to increase the number of sewing and knitting machines. We will also need to improve on the training offered to caregivers, in order to improve their skills and knowledge on tailoring and knitting. We will also need to improve on our structure and make it suitable for wide and modern sewing and knitting activities. As the area where we live is made up of rice paddy fields, as well as the rice industry, the clothes that the partners wear in their daily work tend to get old very quickly, so they are always in need of clothes. That is why we chose this project to help provide them with where they can buy clothing and sweaters to wear.

How the church will sustain the Cause

The first way to make this project sustainable without needing support from outside the church is the knowledge provided because the knowledge will help us to constantly create new things related to this profession. This grant will help us to get the capital to increase the number of machines, the number of clothes, the amount of thread, and other materials that we will need in this project, this grant will also help us to expand the building according to match the current trend because our place of work is very small. So because we will have achieved all this, in order for this project to continue to reach the point where it does not need support from outside the church, we will put more effort into the following: 1. We will establish strong governance structures: Governance will help us guide the partners and members of this project in a direction that comes with sustainable development. 2. We will focus on providing different reports: Through different reports, we will see the strengths and weaknesses of the people and help us in making decisions. 3. We will put effort into asset control: Asset control will be established which will help us to maintain the assets of the project. 4. Establish a safeguarding mechanism: A safeguarding mechanism will help us to grow forward and thus help us not to regress. 5. We will set up a marketing team: This team will help us to ensure that our products will be popular and reach everywhere and on time. All this will bring this project to an experience that does not yet deserve other support from outside the church
