The association benefiting from this initiative began its wood business project in 2022 and consists of 28 members—6 men and 22 women. The primary focus of their business is to buy raw wood and sell it to carpenters who have the machinery to create various products such as chairs, beds, tables, and doors. The profits generated from this business enable the members to support their families, including paying for their children’s education, as well as purchasing food and clothing for their households.
Despite their efforts, the association faces a significant challenge: insufficient capital. This limits their ability to expand and add value to the wood they purchase, stifling potential growth. They are currently unable to produce finished items, which would significantly increase their income. If this cause receives funding, they will be able to purchase the necessary carpentry machines and expand their operations. With the right equipment, they can start manufacturing items such as chairs, beds, doors, cabinets, and tables, and consequently, grow their customer base and increase their earnings.
Additionally, the association members are eager to enhance their skills. Two of their members are already prepared to train others in carpentry, and the group is united in their commitment to work together for the success and sustainability of this project. This initiative will not only improve the financial stability of the caregivers but will also contribute to the long-term development and self-sufficiency of the community. The opportunity to establish their own carpentry workshop will empower them, allowing them to create high-quality products and increase their earning potential.
