What the church is contributing

Physical Resources
Community members have pledged garden and yard wood scraps (branches, prunings, offcuts) as feedstock, donated basic processing tools (handsaws, machetes, hatchets, chopping blocks, wheelbarrows), and offered household yards and outdoor spaces for hands-on training and small-scale charcoal/briquette trials — providing low-cost, readily available inputs and local training sites to launch a fast, community-owned pilot that reduces startup costs and supports scalable impact.
Human Resources
Experienced technicians in charcoal production will lead safe, efficient pyrolysis and briquette-making, providing hands-on training and quality control; holders of local wisdom will advise on sustainable feedstock harvesting, traditional drying and curing methods, and culturally appropriate practices to ensure community acceptance; community members and neighbors will supply labor for collection, processing, packing, and distribution while participating in training to build lasting local capacity; and volunteers with marketing and management skills will develop branding, sales channels, record-keeping, and simple business processes to secure buyers, manage finances, and scale the EcoGlow enterprise.

How the church will sustain the Cause

If the project continues, the knowledge and management responsibilities will be transferred to the community and local team to ensure ongoing maintenance and expansion. Activities and technologies will be further developed to reach more children and families, with a priority on creating collaborative networks and partnerships. Regular monitoring and evaluation will be implemented to track progress and maintain the project's positive impact, ensuring its sustainability and long-term benefits for the local community’s health, income, and child development.
