Solar power systems for use in the ministry of Mae Ee Lo Church (branch)

Date Posted: 06/15/2026

The church received support to install a solar power system at the new building, which previously had no electricity. This has greatly improved church activities and allowed members to charge devices and use basic equipment. Church leaders and members are deeply grateful for the support and continue to keep all supporters in their prayers, asking God to bless you in all areas of your lives.

About the Cause

Posted by TH0963 in Thailand on 03/26/2026

The Mae I Lo community is a small settlement located in a remote mountainous area, surrounded by dense forests, and facing significant challenges due to its isolation from basic utilities. With a population of approximately 250 residents, the community relies predominantly on traditional agriculture and the sustainable use of local natural resources, which is typical of highland areas. However, the difficult geography severely limits access, as the steep mountainous terrain means that the only road stretches for several kilometers. During the rainy season, this road is prone to erosion and landslides, often rendering it impassable for weeks or even months, making it difficult for residents to access healthcare, education, and essential food supplies. Adding to the community's struggles, Mae I Lo lacks electricity entirely, forcing residents to rely on oil lamps and candles for nighttime lighting. These alternatives are inadequate and pose safety risks, particularly for children's learning, adults' work, and patient care. The absence of electricity critically affects various aspects of life, including quality of life, health, education, and communication. Without electricity, residents cannot refrigerate medicines or operate basic medical equipment, which compromises their health. Schools are left without modern teaching aids or electrical equipment, hindering educational progress. Additionally, the inability to charge phones complicates emergency coordination, while access to clean water is limited, as the community primarily relies on streams and rainwater, which can be scarce during certain seasons. Addressing these resource gaps is essential for improving the overall quality of life in Mae I Lo.

How the church will sustain the Cause

The church is committed to the sustainability of its solar cell initiative, implementing a robust annual budget plan dedicated to repairs and maintenance. This proactive approach ensures that our solar systems remain in optimal condition, providing reliable energy to our community. Additionally, our fasting prayer program fosters spiritual growth and unity among members, reinforcing our collective commitment to this vital project. The maintenance fees collected from community members utilizing the church's solar cells further enhance our sustainability efforts. By investing in the upkeep of our solar systems, we empower our community to benefit from clean energy while fostering a sense of shared responsibility and ownership. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future!
