Sorghum planting and post harvest storage preparation.
Date Posted: 08/29/2025
After the Church and caregivers learned that our cause had been funded, we were filled with joy. The church generously provided us with land for growing sorghum and even helped connect us with an agronomist to advise us on the best farming practices. We are now in the planting season, and we are glad that it is raining and the soil is moist. We have been able to prepare the land properly and are ready to plant sorghum. We are hopeful for a bountiful harvest that will not only improve food security but also create jobs for those who will process sorghum flour. This initiative is expected to lift our families out of poverty in Jesus' name.

How the church will sustain the Cause
The church is blessed with leaders who are skilled in agriculture and are committed to supporting caregivers and parents in the cultivation of sorghum, corn, and potatoes through crop rotation practices. These leaders will continue to provide guidance and training, ensuring sustainable agricultural practices within the community. Caregivers are already involved in sorghum farming, making it a familiar and established practice. This continuity ensures that the project remains sustainable over time. In addition to their ongoing work with sorghum, caregivers will receive further training in sorghum processing, specifically for producing flour for consumption. This initiative will provide caregivers and their households with a reliable source of income, improving their financial stability and overall well-being. By enhancing their agricultural skills and access to new markets, this cause will empower them to achieve greater self-sufficiency while also addressing the nutritional needs of their families.
