My name is Saw Fernando Sam San, and I am 21 years old this year. I was born and raised in Insein, Yangon, Myanmar, and have studied the Burmese language my entire life. My family consisted of four members, including myself, but my parents passed away. My father died when I was 14, and my mother died when I was 17. Since then, my grandparents and aunt have taken care of me. However, in 2023, I had a reason to move to Mae Sot, primarily due to the military coup. I had the opportunity to study at Kli Thoo Klo. Initially, the GED was very challenging for me. However, I passed all the subjects last year. To achieve my GED journey, our school program covered the exam fees. This helped me in several ways. Firstly, I didn't have to worry about the exam fees. Secondly, it saved my parents money in some ways because they also had to pay for my accommodation and food. I am very grateful to the leaders, parents, and coordinators of the community and this program because their support enabled me to achieve my goal without worry.

The church aims to ensure the project's sustainability even after funding ends by building a support network from church members, alumni, donors, and partner organizations to continuously contribute to the GED exam fund. Furthermore, the church will encourage those who have benefited from the project, once they are financially stable, to re-engage in helping the next generation of youth through volunteering, mentoring, or financial support according to their means. The church will also integrate this project into its existing education and youth development ministries to ensure continued support for youth and create a long-term impact.
