This report highlights the successful construction of a multi-purpose sports facility at Kibirizi Parish. The facility supports various sporting activities, including volleyball and basketball, providing children and youth with a safe environment for sports, recreation, and talent development. After receiving financial support for the implementation of this Cause/project, the Center leadership organized a planning meeting to discuss the way forward. A public tender announcement was then issued through Radio Rwanda, inviting qualified contractors to submit bids for the construction work. Following the evaluation process, a contractor was selected to carry out the construction of the facility. During implementation, it was realized that the financial support received through the Compassion cause covered only about 55% of the total project cost. In order to ensure the successful completion of the facility, the church contributed the remaining 45% of the required funds. Through God’s grace and the combined efforts of all stakeholders, the project was completed successfully. Today, the sports facility is already benefiting children, youth, and the wider community through sports and recreational activities. It has created opportunities for physical development, teamwork, social interaction, and healthy living among participants. EPR Parish Kibirizi expresses its deepest gratitude to all donors and supporters whose generous contributions made this project possible. Your support has created a lasting impact on the lives of children, youth, and the entire community by providing a modern and safe sports facility that will continue to serve both present and future generations. May God richly bless everyone who contributed toward the success of this wonderful project.
Recreation is essential for maintaining good health and preventing diseases. Our church serves a large group of young people, totaling about 969, including 250 actively involved in the project, and 1,007 children. However, there is no recreational infrastructure in the community, requiring long trips to rent facilities for sports and activities.
This lack of recreational spaces is a growing concern, as it leaves children and youth vulnerable to various risks, including exposure to violence and unhealthy behaviours. To address this, we aim to build sports facilities, including volleyball and basketball courts, as well as spaces for children’s hobbies and activities. These infrastructures will provide a safe environment for the youth, helping to develop their talents, promote healthy lifestyles, and safeguard their well-being and rights.
Although the church is eager to undertake this project, it lacks the necessary resources to complete the construction. Support is needed to help create these much-needed recreational spaces for our community.
To build a strong church that spreads the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children, youth, families and the community for them to be able to testify God’s kingdom to the world and whose holistic environment is fully bloomed.
