Building a Kitchen for Children Living in Poverty: Dignified and healthy food is a fundamental right of every child and forms the basis for their physical growth, cognitive development, and emotional well-being. In our community, many families face poverty that limits their daily access to nutritious food prepared under appropriate conditions. This reality directly impacts children's health, school performance, and quality of life. As a church committed to service and love for our neighbor, we recognize our moral and social responsibility to respond to this urgent need. Building a proper kitchen will not only allow us to prepare safe and balanced meals but will also strengthen the comprehensive support we provide to the most vulnerable children. This project stems from the collaborative work of the church, the community, parents, and volunteers, along with compassionate donors who share the desire to guarantee a dignified, hygienic, and functional space for food preparation. Parents see this initiative as a way to supplement their children's diets; the community understands it as an investment in the future; And the volunteers commit to offering their time and effort in a spirit of solidarity.

How the church will sustain the Cause
The sustainability of the SABOR DE ESPERANZA children's kitchen project is based on the active participation of the church, the community, parents, and volunteer staff, guaranteeing the continuity of the service beyond the initial implementation phase. First, the church assumes a central role as the coordinating entity, providing the physical space, administrative organization, and ongoing support for the project. Its leadership strengthens community trust and promotes the mobilization of local resources. Community participation ensures a model of shared responsibility. Through volunteering, in-kind donations, and community activities, members contribute continuously to the operation of the kitchen. Parents actively participate in support, maintenance, and organizational tasks, fostering a sense of belonging and commitment to the project. From a financial perspective, the project employs self-management strategies such as fundraising campaigns, partnerships with local businesses, contributions from recurring donors, and community events. These actions diversify funding sources and reduce dependence on a single sponsor. Capacity building through training in food handling, administration, and community management enables the local team to operate the project efficiently and sustainably over time.
To encourage every child, young person, and adolescent to grow like Jesus; filled with love, wisdom, grace, and communion with God, so they can become good people for society and positively impact their community, living in harmony and serving with passion.
