Safe bathrooms for children and young people: Thank you for making it possible
Date Posted: 03/19/2026
With great joy and gratitude, we want to share that this project has been completed thanks to the support of each and every one of you. Your generosity has been key to making the construction and improvement of safe restrooms for the children and youth of our church and community a reality. This project arose from the need to provide a dignified, clean, and safe space, especially for our youngest participants. Previously, the conditions were inadequate, which presented a challenge in terms of hygiene, health, and comfort. Thanks to your contributions, we have been able to implement significant improvements, including infrastructure upgrades, quality materials, and more functional spaces. Now, our children and youth have safe facilities that promote their well-being and dignity. The impact has been very positive. The children feel more comfortable, the parents are grateful, and as a church, we can continue serving with greater excellence. This project has not only improved facilities but has also strengthened the care and love for our community. We want to express our deepest gratitude. Your support not only built restrooms but also sowed seeds of well-being, dignity, and hope in many lives. Thank you for being a part of this work!
About the Cause
Posted by Huellas de Amor Student Center in El Salvador on 09/04/2025
Children attending the church have expressed discomfort using the current restrooms. We have observed that many prefer not to use them or wait until they get home, as they are not adapted to their needs. The existing restrooms are in poor condition, lacking adequate ventilation and no spaces adapted for the little ones. Furthermore, there are no functional sinks or even basic hygiene conditions. This not only creates discomfort but also poses a risk to the physical and emotional health of children and young people. Therefore, we want to build new, safe, and age-appropriate restrooms. They will have individual stalls, sinks with clean water, gender separation, good ventilation, and durable materials that ensure adequate hygiene conditions. Accessible spaces for younger children will also be included. This project will directly benefit more than 400 children and young people who attend weekly educational, spiritual, and community activities at our church. In turn, it will provide peace of mind to parents, knowing that their children have a decent and safe environment. A proper bathroom is a basic need. With this cause, we seek to ensure every child has a clean, private, and respectful space that strengthens their self-esteem and allows them to participate with greater confidence in all activities.

How the church will sustain the Cause
Our church is committed to sustaining this cause long-term through the ongoing care of the facilities. We will form a team of volunteers responsible for maintenance, regular cleaning, and minor repairs. Additionally, a portion of monthly offerings and contributions will be used to cover basic expenses such as water, cleaning, and necessary materials. With community engagement and a culture of shared responsibility, we will ensure the restrooms remain in good condition without relying on future outside assistance.
As a Church, our vision is to see children grow up with the fear of God, protected and loved. We support their holistic development: body with care, mind with education, heart with values, and spirit with faith, so that they may be light and agents of change in their homes, schools, and communities.
