Progress on the Safe Bathrooms for Children and Young People Cause

We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the Safe Restrooms cause. Thanks to your generosity, the necessary funding is now complete, and we have been able to make significant progress in implementing the project. Over the past few weeks, we have been working on the complete construction of the new restrooms for the children and youth of the church. The main structure is now up, and we are currently continuing with the finishing touches and the installation of the necessary elements to ensure safe and comfortable use. Although we have experienced some minor delays due to material availability, the project continues to progress well, and we are nearing completion. The impact on the community has been very positive. Church members and visitors have expressed their excitement about soon having completely new and safer facilities. Estela, Carolina, and Vanessa, for example, told us how relieved they feel knowing that their children will soon be able to use restrooms that are suitable and specially designed for them. Once again, thank you for your support. Your contribution is creating a real and visible change in our church and community.
About the Cause

Children attending the church have expressed discomfort using the current restrooms. We have observed that many prefer not to use them or wait until they get home, as they are not adapted to their needs. The existing restrooms are in poor condition, lacking adequate ventilation and no spaces adapted for the little ones. Furthermore, there are no functional sinks or even basic hygiene conditions. This not only creates discomfort but also poses a risk to the physical and emotional health of children and young people. Therefore, we want to build new, safe, and age-appropriate restrooms. They will have individual stalls, sinks with clean water, gender separation, good ventilation, and durable materials that ensure adequate hygiene conditions. Accessible spaces for younger children will also be included. This project will directly benefit more than 400 children and young people who attend weekly educational, spiritual, and community activities at our church. In turn, it will provide peace of mind to parents, knowing that their children have a decent and safe environment. A proper bathroom is a basic need. With this cause, we seek to ensure every child has a clean, private, and respectful space that strengthens their self-esteem and allows them to participate with greater confidence in all activities.

How the church will sustain the Cause
Our church is committed to sustaining this cause long-term through the ongoing care of the facilities. We will form a team of volunteers responsible for maintenance, regular cleaning, and minor repairs. Additionally, a portion of monthly offerings and contributions will be used to cover basic expenses such as water, cleaning, and necessary materials. With community engagement and a culture of shared responsibility, we will ensure the restrooms remain in good condition without relying on future outside assistance.
