About the Cause

Posted by TH0385 in Thailand on 10/09/2025

The Utum Church, situated in a remote, high-altitude area, operates a dormitory ministry for children from impoverished regions, primarily supporting girls who lack the means to pursue higher education. To empower these girls, the church offers weaving and sewing activities that develop vocational skills, leading to self-reliance. With your support, 40 girls will gain practical skills to create their own paths and earn income while studying. The church will also establish a marketing system to sell their products online and to tourists, promoting sustainable livelihoods. This initiative aims to foster independence and hope for the futures of these young girls.

How the church will sustain the Cause

If this activity receives funding, the church will invest in acquiring necessary materials, tools, and sewing machines, and will organize expert-led training in traditional weaving and tribal clothing sewing to empower children with sustainable vocational skills. To ensure long-term impact, the church plans to replicate the training by expanding to other dormitories, continuously developing product lines for income generation, and establishing a dedicated vocational fund to support ongoing skill development and equipment updates for future generations. Additionally, the church will work to build market linkages, promote product sales through online platforms and tourism, and engage the community to foster ownership and cultural preservation. These combined efforts will create a self-sustaining system that equips children with valuable skills, generates income, and provides ongoing opportunities for higher education and personal growth long into the future.
