Sixteen-year-old Aminata grew up in a farming family. She loved school, but her poor grades prevented her from continuing. Without a diploma or any formal training, she stayed home, searching for a job and a reason to get up each morning. It was with her in mind, and with other young people at our center in mind, that this initiative was born. Many young people like Aminata leave school due to insufficient results. Without training, they remain without a clear future, exposed to unemployment or migration to the cities. Others go to gold mining sites. This initiative will help these young people, both girls and boys, to receive training in sewing, to acquire a practical skill. We will form a mixed group, supervised by experienced instructors, with sewing machines and basic materials. We hope to see them regain confidence, earn their own income, and become role models for other young people struggling in school.
The church's vision for the holistic development of children is: Winning for Christ
