Construction of a Professional Training Center in Sewing and Weaving Faso-Danfani Loincloths

WHY IT MATTERS

We want to train at least 15 school dropouts in tailoring and sewing and 10 young people in weaving traditional loincloths each year. The security crisis has caused many young people in our community to drop out of school, resulting in young boys going to gold mining sites and young girls getting married early. The Church initiated 6 girls and 4 boys in sewing and weaving Faso Danfani loincloths last year. Today, these young people have stayed with their parents and are practicing their trades. We want to build a well-equipped training center to relieve not only the young people who engage in this very risky adventure but also to enable their economic and social empowerment. The ten young people initiated into the Church have converted and are now engaged in evangelization and they contribute to the development of their respective families. Having this training center in our community will help reduce youth unemployment, juvenile delinquency and banditry in the area. This center is a great opportunity for the socio-professional integration of young people and their holistic development. It involves the construction of two learning rooms and the acquisition of learning materials for the benefit of the entire community in general and in particular vulnerable young people who have dropped out of school, as several generations will pass through it.
