About the Cause

The family and community institutions are the most important shields for children and youth. However, in today's society, the problems of violence and sexual abuse against children at the local level are becoming more severe and complex. This is reflected in the horrific incident that occurred in the community surrounding the church in late June 2026: the case of "Nong Khaimuk," a 12-year-old girl who was lured, assaulted, and raped to death in the woods behind her village. Forensic investigation implicated the perpetrator as a 15-year-old juvenile who was someone close to the victim. This tragedy not only caused profound loss and grief to the grieving family but also highlighted a "silent threat" lurking in our church community. As those with a role in caring for and nurturing vulnerable children, youth, and families in the area, we recognize that solving this problem cannot be left solely to government agencies. A proactive and systematic approach from the community is necessary. Therefore, we initiated this project to raise awareness of holistic safety through collaborative work among children, families, and the community.
