In our community, many youth do not have access to practical skills that can help them earn income or build a stable future. Most families have limited resources, and there are few opportunities for young people to develop hands-on skills that can lead to real work. Because of this, some youth lack direction and meaningful ways to use their time.
Our church has already started introducing basic hairdressing skills to a small group of youth who are eager to learn. However, this has been very limited due to a lack of proper tools, equipment, and materials, making it difficult for them to practice consistently or grow their skills beyond a basic level.
To respond to this need, our church will expand this small beginning by providing proper hairdressing equipment and supplies, and opening the opportunity for more youth to participate. This will allow them to move from simple practice into real skill development, learning haircutting, styling, and basic beauty care in a consistent and hands-on way.
As youth begin to practice with the right tools, they will gain confidence and start to see how their skills can be used to serve others and create value. Over time, they will be able to offer simple services within the community, helping them earn small income while building responsibility, purpose, and direction for their future.
