We move forward with love: we begin preparing the land

Thanks to the support we've received, we've been able to take the first steps toward making this fun and safe recreational space a reality for our children. Currently, our team and community members have been working on preparing and leveling the land where the playground will be installed. Seeing the children's excitement at the prospect of soon having a safe place to play fills us with hope and motivation. One of the main challenges we've faced is the high cost of the playground equipment and the waiting time for its manufacture and delivery, as it must be ordered in advance. There's also the possibility that the approved funds won't cover everything we initially envisioned building. However, as a church and community, we continue to seek additional support and explore ways to raise more funds to complete the project. Even so, we are incredibly grateful because this support already represents a significant step forward: we will soon have swings and other play equipment that will bring joy, recreation, and a safer space for our children. This cause is already strengthening our community, uniting our efforts, and sowing hope in our children and families.

With this project, we aim to create a recreational park with individual play structures such as swings, slides, seesaws, etc. We also need benches where children and teenagers can play and enjoy themselves in a fun and healthy way, thus drawing them closer to Christ. Having a recreational space will motivate children who are lagging behind to attend the center and continue their development in various areas (cognitive, spiritual, physical, and socio-emotional). In our community, there are approximately 725 children and teenagers, and we currently have 280 active participants at the center. To achieve this goal, we need some construction materials for the ground, to finish the tie beam for the perimeter fence (which is already built), the various play structures, some benches, plastering for the walls, painting the fence walls with images related to child protection and the Bible, a large gate for the entrance, and two metal doors so that the children and teenagers have a safe physical space. We need to create this space because there is no place for recreation in this community, and in this way we want to attract children and teenagers, teach them moral and Christian values, and prevent them from falling into addictions. During the week we will collaborate with the children and adolescents at the CDI (Child Development Center), and on weekends it will be open to all the children of the community while we share the love of Christ with them.

How the church will sustain the Cause
Our church will maintain this area through a sustainability plan based on three pillars: community volunteering, a maintenance fund, and local partnerships. We have a neighborhood committee and congregation members who will handle cleaning and minor repairs through community workdays. In addition, we will allocate a percentage of our offerings and internal activities to a fixed fund to cover annual maintenance, painting, and replacement parts. Finally, we will establish agreements with local businesses and authorities to receive support in the form of basic supplies (paint, tools, plants). In this way, we ensure that the park is kept in good condition without constantly relying on new external donations.
Introduce Christian and biblical principles in childhood and work in favor of youth who are linked to drugs, alcoholism, prostitution, among others, in order to form young people who are loyal to this society and free from all vices.
