Sustainable Water Development for Ban Mae Pun Lang Church and Community

TH0355
Posted by TH0355Thailand

WHY IT MATTERS

Mae Pun Lang Church is located in Mae Pun Lang village, a highland community facing limitations in basic infrastructure, especially water resources, which are crucial for survival. Currently, the church and surrounding residents experience severe water shortages during the dry season because existing surface water sources and mountain water supply systems are insufficient and frequently contaminated during the rainy season.

The church serves not only as a place of worship but also as a learning center for youth and a public service area for the community. The lack of clean and sufficient water directly impacts the health of children, youth, and the elderly, and significantly hinders the church's social activities.

Therefore, the church has conceived a "Permanent Water Resource Development Project" by drilling groundwater wells to utilize quality underground water resources. This aims to provide a complete and sustainable solution to the water shortage, making the church an "oasis"—a reliable source of clean water for all residents of Mae Pun Lang village without discrimination.
