Future Action Plan for Sustaining the Community Clean Drinking Water Project: 1. Involve villagers from planning and installation to maintenance and evaluation. Encourage children and youth to promote water hygiene. 2. Training and Knowledge Development: Provide training on water filter maintenance, upkeep, and basic water quality testing. Create at least 2-3 community "water system operators" to ensure backup. Develop educational materials for children and villagers on the benefits of clean water and safe usage. 3. Continuous Maintenance System: Establish a filter replacement schedule with clear responsibilities. Maintain a stock of supplies such as filters and cleaning solutions. 4. Regularly test water quality (e.g., every 3 or 6 months). 5. Sustainable Budget Allocation: Establish a community or school fund for water system maintenance. Seek continued support from local organizations such as sub-district administrative organizations, development agencies, and private organizations. Organize fundraising activities, such as selling water at below-market prices, to fund maintenance. 6. Appropriate Technology for the Area: Select durable, energy-efficient, and easily repairable water filtration systems. Choose equipment with locally available spare parts. Consider using solar energy to reduce electricity costs and increase sustainability.
