Our church has already begun a small-scale coffee training initiative using available resources such as brewing equipment, drying racks, and planting materials. This has allowed community members to start learning practical skills, but the current program is still limited in size, tools, and training capacity. If this is expanded, more unemployed people, youth, and homemakers will be able to gain real vocational skills that can lead to income generation and small business creation. Participants will be able to develop both practical and professional abilities such as coffee brewing, menu design, cost management, and customer service. This will increase opportunities for stable income while also strengthening confidence and independence among learners. To build on what has already started, our church will expand this program into a structured coffee vocational training system. We will provide more developed training in coffee brewing, bean selection, roasting basics, flavor understanding, and small business management. We also want to support hands-on learning through planting, processing, and use of drying racks so participants understand the full cycle from production to sale. Through this expansion, we want to turn a small beginning into a complete learning and livelihood pathway for the community.

How the church will sustain the Cause

Going forward, our church will continue developing this coffee training program as a self-sustaining community system built on what has already started. We want to expand it into both a training space and a small operational coffee business that supports learning and income generation at the same time. Income from coffee sales and related activities will be reinvested into equipment, materials, and training costs so the program can continue and grow without relying fully on external support. Our church will also develop in-house trainers from experienced participants so that knowledge can be passed on and expanded within the community. We will use available local resources efficiently, including planting materials, processing tools, and drying systems, to reduce costs and strengthen sustainability. As the program grows, we will establish a revolving fund so income from sales can continuously support new trainees and future expansion. Over time, what started as a small training initiative will become a community-based coffee system where skills, production, and income are connected, and where participants can continue building small businesses that strengthen the local economy.
