The family is happy to have received help from their brothers and friends who donated. They have settled into their new home; their bed no longer gets wet, and they feel safer during the rainy season.
It was a home filled with love, but also with leaky roofs, cracked walls, and no bathroom. They used a small corner behind the house, covered with old sheets of metal, where neither the wind nor the rain gave them a break. The mother dreamed of having a real bathroom, even a small one. But money was barely enough for food. The father worked some days in the fields, and when there was no work, he did what he could: repairing fences, cutting firewood, etc.
This family lives in the Dominican Republic, in a remote area within the province of La Romana, in a Batey called Gato. They hope that one day someone will see their needs and help them have that dream home. That's why we've decided to share this story so that those who can relate can help this family fulfill their dream of having a proper roof over their heads and a bathroom.
We want to achieve the ideal of having a childhood for Christ, free from poverty, with an optimal level of spiritual development that will lead them to be part of a generation of preachers of the word of the Lord, seeking to form an integrated society that worships the name of God.
