Along the Thailand–Myanmar border, many families depend on daily-wage work and seasonal gathering of forest products. With few reliable sources of income, households face employment insecurity and inconsistent access to adequate, nutritious food.
Establishing integrated agriculture learning centers is an important way to strengthen food security and support sustainable development. These centers connect practical skills with relevant knowledge, helping families and communities produce enough varied, reliable food for their own needs.
The centers provide hands-on learning environments for children, young people, and families. Rather than relying on theory alone, participants can observe, experiment, and practice farming techniques in real-world settings, then apply what they learn at home. By offering practical demonstrations and space to learn by doing, the centers address a key gap in community skills development.
