About the Cause

Posted by TH0333 in Thailand on 04/22/2026

Our community is experiencing a strong and growing demand for coffee, with many families drinking instant coffee daily and often consuming multiple packets each day. While coffee is already a regular part of daily life, most available options are low quality and rely heavily on processed instant products. If this is addressed, families will have access to a cleaner, higher-quality coffee option that can be produced and served locally. This will reduce reliance on instant coffee, improve daily consumption choices, and create new opportunities for local income generation. Youth who remain in the village without continuing education will also have a practical place to learn work skills and earn income while supporting their families. To respond to this need, our church has started a small coffee shop using basic equipment such as a fridge and sink, along with simple serving methods including reusing plastic bottles. Our church will continue to develop this space by improving basic facilities such as seating, equipment, an ice machine, and service tools so that it can serve the community more effectively. We also want to use this space as a practical employment opportunity for young people, helping them gain experience in service, responsibility, and small business operations while contributing to their household income.

How the church will sustain the Cause

Going forward, our church will continue developing this coffee shop as a small but stable community-based income activity. We want to strengthen it step by step so that it can support both ongoing operations and community benefit. Income from coffee sales will be divided between reinvesting into the business and supporting community needs. A portion will be used to restock supplies, maintain equipment, and gradually improve the service space, ensuring the coffee shop remains functional and sustainable over time. Our church will also train youth to take part in daily operations so that skills and responsibility can be shared and passed on. This will help build local ownership of the project rather than depending on a single group. We also want to use part of the income to support vulnerable members of the community, including widows, underprivileged children, and families in need, so that the project benefits extend beyond employment alone. Over time, this small coffee initiative will grow into a stable community space that supports income generation, skill development, and shared care within the village.
