About the Cause
Posted by TH0328 in Thailand on 10/08/2025
Water is essential to all life and ecosystems. For living organisms, water—making up roughly 60–70% of the human body—regulates temperature, dissolves and transports nutrients, and supports vital metabolic processes like digestion and waste removal; many species also depend on aquatic habitats (rivers, seas, ponds) for survival. In agriculture and food systems, water is the primary requirement for crop growth, animal husbandry, and numerous food-processing and washing steps. The church’s water filtration project addresses these needs by providing reliable access to safe water where it’s scarce, improving health, food security, and livelihoods. Framed as a mission of service rooted in biblical principles of love and compassion, the project delivers practical benefits while strengthening community wellbeing.

What the church is contributing
Physical Resources
The local community and church will provide essential physical resources for the water filter project, including a dedicated plot on church grounds for installation and community use, storage space and meeting rooms, locally sourced construction materials and basic tools (shovels, piping, tanks, filters), volunteers for installation and maintenance, and access to transport and utilities as needed to support setup, training, and ongoing upkeep.
Human Resources
The church will support the project by covering food and labor costs, donating volunteer time, providing cooks and refreshments for workdays, offering paid or stipended labor when needed, and committing staff and congregants to manage installation, training, and ongoing maintenance.
Financial Resources
$154
How the church will sustain the Cause
Our church will sustain the water filtration project long-term without relying on external funding through careful budget management, using existing church resources (space, equipment, volunteers) to minimize costs, and training successors to ensure leadership continuity. Strong internal support from members who share the mission will provide ongoing contributions of labor and modest resources. If additional funds are ever needed, we will raise them through church-led activities (flea markets, merchandise sales) rather than external solicitations, ensuring financial resilience and community ownership.
