About the Cause
Posted by TH0273 in Thailand on 04/22/2026
The primary goal of this project is to promote nutrition and develop life skills among students, focusing on ensuring that underweight students have access to and receive sufficient protein from chicken eggs for optimal growth and improved health. We started the program in a small way, but want to expand it and make it stable and sustainable. Our students will learn about the entire chicken farming process, utilizing their free time productively and fostering a sense of responsibility. Once the chickens lay eggs, the produce is immediately used to prepare meals for the family. This not only enhances the quality of the diet but also reduces the cost of protein-rich food for parents, leading to improved food security and household economic stability.

How the church will sustain the Cause
Community-based resource management begins with constructing simple shelters using local materials. Then, food costs are reduced by using food scraps and leftover agricultural produce in their own mixtures. Most importantly, students are involved in every step, from caring for the shelters and feeding the chickens to collecting the eggs. Once the eggs are harvested, they are immediately used to prepare meals for family consumption. The money left over from selling surplus eggs is then reinvested to purchase necessary ingredients, creating a sustainable food cycle and income for themselves.
