About the Cause
Posted by TH0341 in Thailand on 04/22/2026
Our church believes that vocational skills are a foundation that can support children and youth throughout their lives. In our community, many families depend on agriculture, but raw produce alone often does not provide enough income. Because of this, parents often move away from their children to find work in bigger cities. We have seen an opportunity to develop simple fruit-based products such as smoothies that can turn local produce into higher-value goods. If this is addressed, youth and community members will be able to learn practical skills in food preparation, cost awareness, creativity, and customer service. This will help them build confidence, gain experience in small business activities, and begin generating income in ways that are accessible within their own community. It will also create opportunities for families to stay together instead of separating due to work migration. To respond to this need, our church will develop training in fruit processing and smoothie production using simple equipment such as blenders and locally available ingredients. We want to teach participants how to select seasonal fruits, prepare clean and healthy drinks, calculate basic costs, and present products in a way that is attractive to customers. Through this, we want to turn everyday local produce into meaningful skills that can support both income and personal development.

How the church will sustain the Cause
Going forward, our church will develop this initiative into a self-sustaining community-based enterprise where training and income generation work together as one system. We want the activities to continue without relying on external support by reinvesting income back into materials, equipment, and ongoing training. Our church will build a simple knowledge transfer system where experienced participants teach new learners, helping skills stay within the community and grow over time. We will also create shared learning materials so that recipes and methods remain consistent and can be passed on easily. We will strengthen local supply relationships by sourcing fruit from community members and encouraging simple use of agricultural byproducts where possible, creating mutual benefit within the village. At the same time, the church space will serve as a central point for both training and small-scale sales, with the potential to serve visitors and surrounding communities. Over time, this will grow into a stable system where local produce is consistently transformed into income, youth are equipped with real skills, and families are able to remain together while building sustainable livelihoods at home.
