About the Cause
Posted by TH0978 in Thailand on 03/27/2026
Our young people often watch adults at the market and want to try selling things themselves. They have ideas but no safe place to practice. We want to expand our Community Market and formalize training for youth so they can have that space. Children and youth will take part in guided market activities. They will learn how to set up their booths, show their work to others, and work together on small projects. They will practice talking with visitors, arranging displays, and planning what to do next. Adults will be there to guide and support them. Together, they will solve problems, share tasks, and encourage each other. This will help the children grow confidence, learn to work with others, and take responsibility for what they do. The market will also help children learn about local foods, crafts, and traditions. They will get a chance to be creative in arranging their booths, making small crafts, or showing their ideas. This will keep culture alive and help them think in new ways. We will show them how to handle small rewards carefully, make decisions, and understand that effort matters. Most of all, the market will give children a safe and meaningful place to spend their time, practice skills, and feel like they belong in the community.

How the church will sustain the Cause
The market will continue by using what the community already has. Open spaces such as school grounds or community halls will be used and tables or materials will come from homes, donations, or recycled items. Adults will guide the youth while children take active roles. This shared responsibility will build skills for both groups and a sense of ownership in the community. Activities will focus on learning and engagement. Small rewards will help children see the value of their efforts but the market will not rely on outside funding. The project will grow naturally as the community continues to participate. Children will learn life skills and teamwork while traditions and local knowledge are passed down. The market will remain a place for learning, creativity, and connection for years to come.
