Our cause is to renovate the bathrooms of the social project that serves children and adolescents in the community. Today, the bathrooms are in poor condition: there are leaks, cracks, blockages, poor ventilation, and old and damaged sinks and toilets. Each bathroom has only one toilet and one sink, and the space is visibly worn out. These problems compromise the hygiene, dignity, and comfort of those who use the space daily.
Children and adolescents often comment that “it’s really bad to use that bathroom.” And in fact, it is difficult to provide a welcoming environment without also taking care of this much-needed space. Many of them spend a good part of the day in the project, and the least we can offer is a clean, safe, and dignified environment for their basic needs.
The proposal is to carry out a complete renovation: replacing toilets and sinks, new tiles, interior and entrance doors, adequate ventilation, efficient lighting, installation of mirrors, partitions, improvements in accessibility, and even spaces with showers, if possible. The workforce will be local, with affordable materials, and all improvements will be made with great care.
This renovation will transform the environment, show children that they are valued and further strengthen the impact of the project on their lives.
