About the Cause

Posted by TH0718 in Thailand on 02/20/2026

The church wants to start an egg-laying chicken farm to support its long-term work with children. Families in the community face rising household expenses, and children need nutritious food to grow and thrive. The church already has a structure ready with pillars and a roof, but it still needs hens, netting, chicken feed, food containers, and water troughs to make the farm fully functional. Raising chickens will provide children with high-quality protein, reduce household costs, and generate extra income to support their education. Children will also learn to care for the chickens, understand where food comes from, and develop responsibility, empathy, and a connection to nature. Through hands-on practice, they will see how their work contributes to real results. The farm will improve children’s well-being and give the community a practical, sustainable way to support its youth.

How the church will sustain the Cause

The egg-laying farm will continue beyond initial funding because the church will reinvest proceeds from egg sales into future expansion and children’s education. Production costs will be reduced by using homegrown feed, such as grains, herbs, and fresh grass, instead of relying entirely on purchased feed. The church can also add value to its produce by creating processed products and establishing direct sales channels. This approach ensures the farm can sustain itself, provide ongoing income, and continue supporting children’s nutrition and education without requiring constant outside funding.
